Blacksmithing in Legion

Blacksmithing in Legion

Looking at Blacksmithing in Legion:

Blacksmithing in Legion will be completely different from Warlords. There is no cooldown material that creates a limit on what and how much you are able to craft. The new bar, Demonsteel Bar, is created by Blacksmiths, not miners. Because there is no cooldown you are only limited by what you can farm or buy.

UPDATES

Crafts can be separated into three main categories:

  • 715 Plate Armor
  • 805 Plate Armor
  • Miscellaneous Items
715 Plate Armor

Blacksmiths are able to create a full set of rare armor with an item level 715. At rank 2 the crafting materials needed are reduced and at rank 3 the crafting materials are reduced again.

Miscellaneous

There are a handful of very handy items. The Leystone Hoofplates increase mounted speed by 20% for 2 hours, or 8 hours for a blacksmith. The Demonsteel Stirrups allow you to remain mounted when interacting with objects 2 hours, or 8 hours for a blacksmith. Both of these only work in the Broken Isles.

Blacksmiths are able to create a few rare relics that can be placed in slots in the artifact weapons. Relics increase the item level of your artifact weapon and most are found as loot from defeating a raid or dungeon boss.

And finally, my personal favorite, blacksmiths will now be able to craft a mount. The Fel Core Hound Harness requires a massive amount of materials to create. Information is a little unclear at the moment, it seems that the recipe to create this mount may drop form Tichondrius, the final boss of the The Nighthold raid.

  • Thanks for the breakdown. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into professions in Legion!
Here’s hoping the mount is bind on use 😉

  • Me too. I love selling mounts and was very sad when the Creeping Carpet turned out to be BoP…
