Looking at Enchanting in Legion:

Enchanting took an interesting turn in Legion. They crafting system is very similar to that of Warlords of Dreanor, two different level of enchants for both cloaks and rings. It’s the neck and glove enchants that are most interesting.

Crafts can be separated into seven main categories:

  • Cloak Enchantments
  • Glove Enchantments

Cloak Enchantments

Enchantments placed on cloaks increase a primary stat. There are two levels with Binding being the more powerful. At rank 2 the crafting materials needed are reduced and at rank 3 the crafting materials are reduced again.

Glove Enchantments

There are four different enchants for gloves, all of them related to professions. They increase the speed of gathering professions. There is also one that increases the speed of surveying with Archaeology.

I’m not sure how valuable these will be. I suppose it depends on how big the increase is and whether or not it stacks with the Tauren and Worgen racial abilities. I doubt they will but it would be pretty cool if they did.

Neck Enchantments

There are the ones that are really interesting. There are only three different enchants here. Each one will create a different proc effect that happens randomly during combat. And each one will be modified based on the enchantments that are applied to your currently equipped cloak and rings.

The enchantments have been changed. They act more like the weapon enchants of the past, a proc that has a short lived effect. Most increase a secondary stat.

Interestingly, Mark of the Ancient Priestess will randomly heal a nearby ally. This may end up being changed, I can see raiders being a little hesitant to pick a potential overheal in place of a stat bonus. Unless this has utility in PVP, perhaps?

Mark of the Distant Army will summon a rain of arrows to attack your current target and Mark of the Hidden Satyr will do the same with a nightmare bolt. Both of these are a flat damage effect that, like the Mark of the Ancient Priestess, may be changed because of raiders. Unless, again, it has use in PVP.

At rank 2 the crafting materials needed are reduced and at rank 3 the crafting materials are reduced again.

Ring Enchantments

Shoulder Enchantments

Enchanting can only make one option for shoulders, others can be purchased from the various factions. This one has a chance for any mob killed to drop Scavenged Cloth.

Miscellaneous

Enchanters are able to create a few rare relics that can be placed in slots in the artifact weapons. Relics increase the item level of your artifact weapon and most are found as loot from defeating a raid or dungeon boss.

There are also three new pets. Enchanted CauldronEnchanted Pen and Enchanted Torch. I’m no battle pet expert, I have no idea if these three will be valuable or not. They are definitely worth keeping an eye on though.

And lastly, a new toy. Leylight Brazier can be used as a cooking fire. Not a very high demand utility item but it will certainly be sought out by collectors.

Modifiers for the Mark Enchants

 

I mentioned above that the different mark enchants will be modified based on what other enchantments you have on your cloak and rings. I didn’t want to put this up there, it felt like it would make more sense to put it after everything else.

I want to clarify something here. I could only find this information at once place, World of Moudi. Because I can’t verify these, and there are no other locations that seem to have this information, take it with a bit of salt. I am not saying that Moudi is lying, just that it is never smart to base a decision on a single piece of information.

Fallent Sentinel

Summons a Sentinal who casts Rain of Fire on your target.

  • Agility on the cloak changes this to glaives
  • Intellect on the cloak changes this to holy bolts
  • Strength on the cloak changes this to fiery arrows
  • Critical Strike on the ring blinds your target
  • Haste on the ring increases the attack radius
  • Master on the ring causes the attack to heal you
  • Versatility on the ring increases the damage of the attack
Loyal Druid

Summons a Druid who attacks your target.

  • Agility on the cloak allows the Druid to use cat form
  • Intellect on the cloak allows the Druid to use moonkin form
  • Strength on the cloak allows the Druid to use bear form
  • Critical Strike on the ring allows the Druid to use a DoT bleed attack
  • Haste on the ring allows the Druid to use a healing spell
  • Master on the ring allows the Druid to root enemies
  • Versatility on the ring increases the damage you deal while the Druid is active
Trickster

Summons a Trickster who attacks your target.

  • Agility on the cloak allows the Trickster to use fel energy
  • Intellect on the cloak allows the Trickster to use shadow energy
  • Strength on the cloak allows the Trickster to use fire energy
  • Critical Strike on the ring allows the Trickster to absorb some damage for you
  • Haste on the ring allows the Trickster to stun your target
  • Master on the ring allows the Trickster to place a DoT curse on your target
  • Versatility on the ring increases the damage you deal while the Trickster is active
