Engineering in Legion

Looking at Engineering in Legion:

Engineering’s biggest new addition is Reaves, a handy robot similar to Jeeves, but much better in many ways. It also has the usual assortment of interesting items. How useful they are remains to be seen.

Crafts can be separated into four main categories:

  • 715 Helmets
  • 805 Helmets
  • Reaves Components
  • Miscellaneous
715 Helmets

Engineers are able to create a helmet of any armor type with an item level of 715. These helmets can only be used by a character with Engineering, limiting the potential for sales. At rank 2 the crafting materials needed are reduced and at rank 3 the crafting materials are reduced again.

805 Helmets

Engineers are able to create a helmet of any armor type with an item level of 805. These helmets can only be used by a character with Engineering, limiting the potential for sales. At rank 2 the crafting materials needed are reduced and at rank 3 the crafting materials are reduced again.

Reaves Components

Reaves is a really cool addition to Engineering. Reaves is summoned by using a Reaves Battery (likely a consumable) and is able to function as a Jeeves, Blingtron and more as long as you have created the corresponding module.

Reaves Module: Bling Mode

Reaves Module: Fireworks Display Mode

Reaves Module: Piloted Combat Mode

Reaves Module: Repair Mode

Reaves Module: Snack Distribution Mode

Reaves Module: Wormhole Generator Mode

Miscellaneous

Engineers are able to create a few rare relics that can be placed in slots in the artifact weapons. Relics increase the item level of your artifact weapon and most are found as loot from defeating a raid or dungeon boss.

Blingtron’s Circuit Design Tutorial is both a toy that can be sold and a requirement for crafting a Reaves module.

Then we have the standard engineering shenanigans. Intra-Dalaran Wormhole Generator teleports you around inside Dalaran only. The Sonic Environment Enhancer can play music if you have a scroll.

Auto-Hammer serves as a simple repair vendor, Failure Detection Pylon can allow a raid team to quickly resurrect after a wipe. Trigger is a new battle pet. Mecha-Bond Imprint Matrix allows Hunters to tame mechanical pets.

Deployable Bullet Dispenser will summon a turret to fight with you. Gunpack will likely be similar to the “Skyterror” Personal Delivery System from Warlords. Gunshoes will likely be similar to the Nitro Boots.

Gunpowder Charge deals damage and disorients your target for a few seconds. And Pump-Action Bandage Gun will allow you to heal an ally from a distance, basically a long distance bandage.
